  1. In law, interference with enjoyment of, or
  2. rights over, land. There are two kinds of
  3. nuisance. Private nuisance affects a
  4. particular occupier of land, such as noise
  5. from a neighbour; the aggrieved occupier can
  6. apply for an injunction and claim damages.
  7. Public nuisance affects an indefinite number
  8. of members of the public, such as obstructing
  9. the highway; it is a criminal offence. In
  10. this case, individuals can claim damages only
  11. if they are affected more than the general
  12. public.
